Can you be a neighborhood leader?
Have you ever attended a caucus? We’ve found that many folks have not gone to one because they are not sure what a caucus is or have never been invited.
A caucus is a meeting of the neighborhood precinct that is held every election year. The precinct is made up of around 350 registered Republican households or roughly 600 voters. At the caucus the primary candidates are discussed.
Issues of which we are concerned are discussed and resolutions are written and voted on. These resolutions can be carried forward and become the “planks” of the County, State And National Platforms. However, we have had an average of 10 people attending the caucus and thus these 10 people are deciding major issues for 600 people.
The reason for this shortfall seems to be that only 2 people have had the responsibility to see that the 350 households are notified of the caucus. It is too much for 2 people. But many hands make light work. If we can get 18 volunteers who would call just 20 people apiece, everyone can be notified.
Can we count on you to be one of those much needed volunteers?
THANKS SO MUCH!
